From the Ground Up
Sown to Bloom began as a seed - a whisper of hope that maybe, just maybe, we could create something beautiful here.
We want to acknowledge, with deep respect and gratitude, that Sown to Bloom is grounded on the ancestral and unceded territory of the Secwepemc and Syilx peoples. It is with reverence that we tend to this land, knowing it holds stories far older than ours.
July 1, 2020
Our little homestead journey began in 2020, when we stumbled upon an overgrown patch of paradise. It was wild, a little worn down, and bursting with untapped potential — much like us. With muddy boots, dirty hands, and a whole lot of heart, we began to gently reshape this place into a sanctuary for healing, growth, and creativity.
December 2023
In 2023, the creative side of Sown to Bloom started to sprout. What began with a handful of pressed flowers and a curious kitten named Rascal quickly grew into something more. Those first few pieces were made with tea on the stove, petals scattered across the table, and a deep desire to connect with my healing.
Before long, Rascal’s tiny paws proved that the kitchen wasn’t the safest studio — so a spare room downstairs became the new home for my pressed flower creations. That space now holds not only art supplies but also moments of stillness, creativity, and hope.
Spring 2024
As spring 2024 rolled in, our land began to awaken. Wildflowers were sown by hand, each seed tucked in with intention and care. I filled garden beds with color and hope, while Kody brought in load after load of soil, rebuilding the banks with his signature blend of grit and heart.
Together, we’ve been nurturing this land back to life — not for perfection, but to nurture what nurtures us.
Summer 2024
Earlier this spring, we purchased two Flow Hives with eager hearts, ready to bring home new colonies to the land. On June 1st, we picked up our bees — full of excitement for what this next chapter would bring. Our first season of beekeeping has already taught us a whole new meaning of patience and presence.
To those of you who have followed along, cheered us on, or found pieces of your own story in ours, thank you.
Your presence means more than words can say. We’re still early in this journey, and we know it won’t all be tidy rows and blooming wildflowers. There will be weeds, weather, and many, many growing pains - but we’re here for it.
For every moment of growth, every quiet bit of healing, and every beautiful, messy little moment in between.
Welcome to Sown to Bloom... Where growth takes time, healing comes in waves, and the land reminds us daily that beauty grows in even the most unexpected places.
